Football Oxford United 3 Burton Albion 0 by Bernie Summers

Bernie here; Oh, and what a grandstand finish we witnessed at a crisp Kassam Stadium! It looked for all the world like a stubborn, cagey affair, but goodness me, the match exploded into life in the final fifteen minutes to leave the home faithful absolutely delighted.
It was Oxford United who broke the deadlock after seventy-six minutes. Young Mo Missanga did brilliantly to cut the ball back, and there was Siriki Dembélé to smash it cleanly into the roof of the net from seven yards out. 1-0 to the U's, and the stadium erupted!
Burton Albion threw bodies forward in search of an equaliser, but they were caught clinically on the break. Right on the ninety-minute mark, substitute Louie Sibley found a pocket of space on the edge of the penalty area and let fly with a magnificent left-footed strike from twenty yards out that completely beat Corey Addai.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Cameron Brannagan triggered one final, devastating counter-attack. Sibley turned provider this time, sliding a pass to Gatlin O'Donkor, who fired home with virtually the final kick of the game.
Full-time: Oxford United 3, Burton Albion 0. An extraordinary finish!
